Bag ban at Stockholmsmässan and Stockholm Furniture Fair?

The decision to ban all bags at major events does not currently apply to trade fairs.

Based on the current situation in the society, the Police Authority has decided on a total bag ban at major events in Sweden. The decision does not cover trade fairs. Stockholmsmässan, on the other hand, has made a decision regarding Gymnasiemässan where there will be a bag ban for visitors.

Exceptions apply to people who need to bring a bag in for medical reasons. The decision may change at short notice so we encourage visitors, exhibitors and partners to stay tuned.

Increased terror threat level?

The Swedish Security Service (SÄPO) has raised the terror threat level in Sweden from 3 to 4 on a five-point scale. The decision is not based on a single event and should be seen as a strategic and long-term assessment. The reason for the decision is a deteriorated security situation regarding threats of attacks against Sweden, and the assessment is that the threat will persist for an extended period.

The Security Police urge us to live as usual and be aware of the security situation. City operations are open as usual. We at Stockholmsmässan are monitoring the situation closely and maintain an ongoing dialogue with the police and the City of Stockholm.

How is Stockholmsmässan affected by the above decision?

Operations continue as usual. We are in regular contact with the police and the City of Stockholm and follow their recommendations. We also have a dialogue with other exhibition centers about security work.
