Exhibit more sustainably

Think circular from the start

Stockholm Furniture Fair is actively working to reduce waste and is constantly developing new ways to exhibit with less climate impact. Many of our exhibitors are already thinking circularly — here we have collected ideas and inspiring examples of how you can create a more sustainable stand.

Build an open stand

Stands without walls require less material and are easier to redesign and reuse year after year. They also invite visitors from many directions.

Swap walls for textiles

Hanging textiles or textile panels can create spatiality without building solid walls. They are also easy to transport and reuse.

Frame the surface with products

Many exhibitors use their own products — such as sofas, screens and shelves — to frame their space instead of building walls. This reduces the need for construction while putting the products in focus.

Build installations

Modular systems, stacked objects or simple racks can replace traditional walls — creating more playful displays with less waste.

Reuse stands and materials — why not donate them?

Many exhibitors choose to rebuild their stands rather than build new ones, and this is a sustainable way forward. But think further — reuse materials from previous projects, or rent and borrow materials to minimize and make the best use of resources. Perhaps parts of the stand can be reused in the showroom or for other creative projects. Or why not donate the material to design schools, non-profit organizations or other initiatives.

Use certified materials

Build with materials that have a low climate impact and high traceability. FSC-labeled wood, recycled plywood, GOTS-certified textiles and rPET are good examples. Find out about environmental data, certifications and recycling options.

Think transport smart

Use reusable transport boxes, fewer disposable products, local suppliers and coordinate transport — it saves both emissions and logistics problems.
