Tidigare utställare i Greenhouse

“Greenhouse was a great platform to show our projects for the first time. It was very important because we had the opportunity to meet people and companies and to get in contact with our first manufacturer to start a collaboration.” — GamFratesi

GamFratesi

GamFratesi’s design takes its creative drive from a fusion of tradition and renewal and an experimental approach to their chosen materials and techniques. With their dual traditional background, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi draw on the classic Danish furniture and craft tradition as well as the classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach.

The studio has received significant awards, and 2014 they were invited as Guest of Honour at Stockholm Furniture Fair. Their work has been shown in many exhibitions around the world, and they collaborate with numerous international companies including Cappellini, Hermès, Gebruder Thonet Vienna and Kvadrat.

GamFratesi first showed at Greenhouse in 2007. They exhibited two lounge chairs, which the year after went into production with the Swedish company Swedese. Visit gamfratesi.com

“Exhibiting in Greenhouse taught me many things as a designer — about form and function, about how to treat materials in a very honest way. During the week, I was introduced to Swedese, who chose my stool to be a part of their collection.” — Oki Sato, Nendo

Nendo

Oki Sato, born in 1977 in Toronto, Canada, studied architecture at Waseda University in Tokyo. He obtained his Master’s degree in 2002. In the same year, the Nendo Studio was born in Tokyo. Nendo, meaning ‘modelling clay’, expresses his desire for certain flexibility and the ability to reinvent oneself. The designer takes his inspiration from Japanese uncluttered style to create a language of his time.

Nendo first showed in 2004, with Wind Stool. Not having a budget to ship his work at that time, he carried the wood chair on the flight to Stockholm. During the week, Nendo was introduced to Swedese, who chose his stool to be a part of their collection. This was his first furniture piece to be produced by a company.

Today, Nendo collaborates with international brands such as Fritz Hansen, Flos, Cappellini, Moroso, Wästberg, and many more. Visit nendo.jp

“It was a critical time when we were just starting our own design studio. Showing at Greenhouse was an important test of whether our vision was right or wrong.” — Hung-Ming Chen and Chen-Yen Wei, Afteroom

Afteroom

Afteroom is a Stockholm-based design studio. Founded and directed by Hung-Ming Chen and Chen-Yen Wei since 2011, the mission is simply to create beautiful products which will add value over time – design to grow old with. The inspiration derives from an intriguing interest of forms, senses, proportions, materials and cultures. The philosophy pivots around simplicity and honesty.

Afteroom first showed at Greenhouse in 2013. They presented prototypes of the Afteroom Chair and Tea Caddy, and self-produced products like the Mini Velo, Apron and Tê Timer.

The Afteroom Chair has been a bestseller for Menu since the launch in 2012. The studio has designed a wide range of products for Menu, and also collaborates with for example Reform. Visit afteroom.com
