Why Plastics?

Plastic is a lightweight, cheap and essential material in our modern society. But its increasing presence everywhere around us raises uncomfortable questions: About overconsumption, single use, and littering. About our desire to shape, bend, and color products in endless variation.

Welcome to a panel discussion with some of the people behind the exhibition Plastic Perspectives. They will discuss our society’s strong dependency and deep fascination for plastics and reflect on how we can challenge how we currently use and perceive this material in design, built environments and societal systems. The discussion will depart from the works within the exhibition and highlight ways to use plastics more sustainably.
