The Global Goals

17 global sustainable development goals

The SDGs are designed to achieve four things by 2030: to eradicate extreme poverty, to reduce inequalities and injustices in the world, to promote peace and justice, and to solve the climate crisis. Stockholm Furniture Fair contributes to some of these goals through a range of actions. We have chosen to focus on goals 5, 9, 12 and 13 where we can have the most impact.

Goal 5 - Gender equality

We strive for gender equality and diversity in the seminar programmes, selection of jury members, creators for exhibitions, design bars, activities and in the promotion of the events. Through subsidized stands in the Greenhouse area, we want to give our support to young designers and future innovations.

Goal 9 - Sustainable industry, innovation and infrastructure

We highlight innovations in Greenhouse, seminars and exhibitions, as well as in the promotion of our exhibitors. By 2024, we launched New Ventures, a platform showcasing new and innovative design. For 2025, we launched Industry Talks, a seminar programme with a special focus on innovation, sustainability and the circular transition.

Goal 12 - Sustainable consumption and production

  • We offer exhibitors sustainable stand packages and highlight good examples of sustainability in the design world through marketing, communication and seminars.
  • We are reducing the production of printed material and instead investing in digital solutions for printed matter and signs, for example.
  • We encourage and promote sustainable design through Greenhouse.
  • In our internal constructions, we strive for transparency, accounting of material and resource consumption and recycling.
  • We use Stockholm Design Week as a platform to highlight sustainability issues, such as circular furniture production and local manufacturing.
  • We offer electric cars as Courtesy Cars during Stockholm Design Week.

Goal 13 - Combat climate change

We work with the 100 Group as a Sustainability Partner. We encourage exhibitors to recycle their stands and we are actively working to shift towards circulating more materials, products and services, for example in our guest exhibitions and inspirational exhibitions.
