Our sustainability work

We strengthen and create sustainable initiatives

Stockholm Furniture Fair is actively working on sustainability, by promoting circular design, reducing waste and encouraging reuse. Our goal is that all self-produced construction is reused. At the same time, we encourage exhibitors to minimize waste in their stands, which has led to a 45 percent reduction in total waste per square meter at the 2024 fair compared to the previous year. Through our platform, we are creating important conversations about the role of design in the sustainable transition.

Sustainable initiatives at Stockholm Furniture Fair

In 2024, we introduced guided tours with designer and sustainability strategist Emma Olbers, highlighting innovative initiatives for resource saving and long-term sustainability, both our exhibitors’ and our own. In 2025, we launched Industry Talks, a seminar programme focusing on current issues in the design industry, with a focus on innovation, sustainability and circular transition, taking place in Material Dialogues—a sustainability exhibition, bar and stage for inspiration, new learnings, solutions and collaborations.

Industry Talks

For 2025, Stockholm Furniture Fair introduced Industry Talks, a seminar programme focusing on current issues in the design industry, with a particular focus on innovation, sustainability and circular transition. The programme is a collaboration with the industry association TMF and brings together leading experts, innovators and decision-makers in the furniture and interior design industry.

Global goals

Stockholm Furniture Fair works in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals by highlighting circular design, reducing waste and promoting reuse. Through our exhibitions, seminars, collaborations and our platform in general, we actively work towards a more sustainable and equal design industry.
